London Fashion Week isn’t just about the catwalks. It’s also about the street style; the bloggers, journos, artists and all-round stylish people who gravitate to the capital’s biggest fashion event of the year.
So we headed down to the hub of London Fashion Week to spot some of the best makeup looks floating around on a rainy morning in Soho…
The classic red lip
Pair minimal, fresh-faced makeup with a monochrome wardrobe and a bold red lip, and you have an eternally stylish finish. Mimic journalist Giosiana’s look with Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Foundation, £8.99, topped off with fan favourite (for good reason!) Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 01, £5.49.
Fashion student Eleonora Doria has paired her vivid red lip with subtle, shimmery gold lids. Find your own gold and red combination with Rimmel’s The Only One Lipstick in One of a Kind, £6.99, slicked on your lips, then sweep Magnif’Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in Gold Record, £4.49, across your eyes.
If you’re not into matte, try a more shimmery red with Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine in Red-y, Set, Go, £6.49. Kenny Cheng paired hers with a soft black liner and a dusting of pink eyeshadow. Grab Scandaleyes Soft Kohl Kajal in Black, £3.99, and the 5 Pan Eyeshadow in Pinkadilly Circus, £6.99, for the same effect.
The plum pout
With Autumn well and truly on its way, dark berry lips are our favourite go to, as seen here on blogger and photographer Diane. Pick up your own Autumnal lip with the satisfyingly deep Moisture Renew Lipstick in Dark Night Waterl-Oops, £6.49.
Fresh skin forever
There’s nothing we love more than a fresh, dewy complexion. Make like journalists Kaby and Giulia and amp up your glow using Rimmel’s Fresher Skin Foundation, £5.99, underneath a few dabs of Good to Glow Highlighter, £4.99. Radiant!
Take groomed brows, the perfect cat-eye flick and a brown lip worthy of the best of the nineties, and you have a look that’s ready and waiting to be papped. Follow blogger Taiba’s lead and use Rimmel’s Brow This Way Eyebrow Kit, £3.99, for brows that are ultra-sharp and defined. Pick up Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eye Liner in Black, £5.49 to nail your cat eye, and look no further than Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick in Coffee Shimmer, £5.49, for your retro lip. Finally, top off the look by using the Kate Sculpting Palette, £6.99, to create perfectly contoured cheekbones.
Right now, one of our favourite trends is the intense pigments seen on eyelids everywhere across the catwalks, and we love artist Melissa’s turquoise colour pop. Pick up Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Pure Turquoise, £4.49, and free-style on your lids for the same vivid effect.
