Everyone loves Christmas - mainly because it means Christmas parties. It’s the perfect excuse to throw on a load of sequins, shimmer and gold, and go all-out with your outfit, accessories and makeup. This year, it’s all about painting your face in golden, gilded tones, starting with gold eyeshadow. Here’s an easy way to master this makeup trend…
The Magnif’Eyes Eye Contouring Palette in Keep Calm & Wear Gold, RRP £7.99, has all the matte and shimmer hues you need for a gorgeous golden eye this season. And the best thing is that it flatters everyone, whatever your eye colour or skin tone.
To make the eyeshadow last all night, start by applying a dab of Lasting Finish Primer on your lids. Then use the lightest shade in the palette as a base, applying it across the lid and up to your brow bone.
Next, pick your favourite of the lighter golds and blend it across your whole lid to just above the crease, sweeping it into the inner corners of your eyes. To add depth to the gold, choose one of the darker shades in the palette and apply a little on the outer half of your eyelid crease before blending well to get rid of any lines.
Next, grab a smaller brush and dampen slightly; use this to apply one of the mid-tone golds underneath your lash line, which will really make the whole eye look pop.
We love this golden lid just as it is, but to make your eyes really stand out, draw a small cat-eye flick on your upper lid with Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner, RRP £5.49. Top off with Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara, RRP £6.99, for gorgeous, look-at-me lashes.
Now that your eye makeup is golden, you just have to pick the dress to match, and you're Christmas-ready.
